Due to my calf injury I walked the whole course. Didn´t run more than a few steps getting "round the corner" from the start box and then a little on a downhill trail about halfway around the course.
Very nice terrain and course so I´m glad I went which wasn´t at all sure considering how my calf felt the day before. With my slow going it was fun to have real flow and control in the map reading. Only made one small hesitation/error on #4 and then of course a stupid mistake on the (unmarked) trails into the last control.
The weather was rainy in the morning and the finish area was terribly muddy but in the forest it felt really nice despite the chill in the air.

At the "Fysiken" gym in Göteborg. Lots of strange (to me) machines for various purposes but I think I managed to find enough to do most of my regular exercises. Avoided everything that may have affected my calf.

Göteborgs VeteranOL, Skatås - Long Course
A nice course North of Delsjön where I actually recognized several parts of the terrain from my last visit here one or two years ago.
Made a 2 minute error on #3 having problems finding the very diffuse spur even being not more than 10 or so meters away. After doing fine up until just before #8 I strained my left calf badly and had to start walking. Lack of concentration may have been part reason for loosing another 2-3 minutes there. Caught by Hans C, SAIK at #3 and we were together until #8.
Walked/jogged the rest of the course and lost around 9-10 minutes more for lack of speed. A sub-55 result would have been OK without mistakes and injury.
