GMARA Bitter Pill 12 hr Adventure Race
Waterbury VT

Paddle - canoe race 45:00 [4] 3.5 mi (12:51 / mi)

Started 28th of 30 after having to run back to the car for the stolen third seat(milk crate). Proceeded to paddle through the pack to finish the leg in second. Most teams elected not to carry kayak paddles...

Trail run race 25:00 [4] 1.5 mi (16:40 / mi) +328ft 13:48 / mi

Run to bike transition.

Mtn Bike race 30:00 [4] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi) +656ft 8:17 / mi

Bike to trek.

Trail run race 3:00:00 [4] 6.0 mi (30:00 / mi) +2297ft 22:01 / mi

Trek with 4 points. 2 peaks 2 streams.
Not our best section this season...

Mtn Bike race 2:30:00 [3] 20.0 mi (7:30 / mi) +2953ft 6:35 / mi

Some riding through the Trapp lodge property. After spending much of the day in 4th place and about an hou back, we came into the transition to the trek in third only 20 mins down to the leaders and 5 mins out of second.

Trail run 25:00 [4] 1.3 mi (19:14 / mi) +262ft 16:09 / mi

Decided we better start racing again.
Took a ah ah shortcut...lost a few minutes.

Other race 20:00 [5] 0.1 mi (3:19:55 / mi)

Across and back swim on Waterbury Reservoir for one cp.
Gained back a minute or so.

Paddle - canoe 2:15:00 [3] 9.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

8 cps around the lake with some off the lake. Major mistake by the leaders got us within 10 min of 1st with 6 miles left. Misplaced cp 5 caught us up. We bailed on the cp about a minute earlier than the other teams which put us in the lead. Found cp 5 100 meters to the South.
We battled to the end to win by less than a minute.
