'Cross training' (Curling) 1:00:00 [1]

A friend invited me to a day of curling (including instruction!) to support the U of Windsor curling team. So we curled from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm with a short break for lunch. I certainly got my money's worth! It was at the private Beach Grove Country Club, which I have never set foot in before. Not my usual social scene ;)

The Lancer curling team apparently does not get any financial aid from the university and in fact, the team members pay to represent their school. Those young people must love the game!

Jogging (In town) 34:29 [3] 3.16 mi (10:55 / mi)
shoes: Hoka

After spending a freakishly warm day inside, I jogged down to the park and back.
My watch told me I had my fastest mile and fastest 5k since I started using this watch in November. Which isn't saying much......

Note

I got Paul a bike fit session in Ann Arbor for his birthday so today was the day.
Of course, I did one too.....No way he is going to have the advantage of a properly fitting bike over me on race day :)
Seat height, placement of the hoods and handle bar angle were some of the tweaks.

Trekking (Rail trail) 30:00 [1] 1.6 mi (18:45 / mi)
shoes: Speed Cross

Pre-workday walk with co-worker.
Just above freezing.

Spin class 45:00 [3]

Standing sprints are hard.

Trekking (In town) 14:55 [1] 1.0 mi (14:55 / mi)
shoes: Hoka

Brisk walk to check out a house that my step daughter is interested in.

Jogging (In town) 13:16 [3] 1.1 mi (12:04 / mi)
shoes: Hoka

And jogged back home.
Some frozen white stuff flying around. But it won't stay.

Trekking (In town) 1:00:00 [1] 3.3 mi (18:11 / mi)
shoes: Other other

Meeting in Sarnia. Walked with another co-worker after a full day of meetings. He has lost a lot of weight in the last 2 years by giving up beer and chips and walking 1-4 miles per day. So we did this instead of having a beer before dinner.

Gym time 40:00 [3]

Bocu ball stuff, kettlebells, hamstrings, assorted free weights and inner/outer thighs (been a while since I've done that.....Oooh)
7 AM

Trekking (rail trail) 29:00 [1] 1.64 mi (17:41 / mi)

In the fall, a co-worker got an activity tracker and set herself a goal of 10,000 steps per day. She admittedly has been struggling to reach that, especially as the days got shorter. Living in the country, walking on country roads after supper is an invitation to disaster.
I want to do more walking/jogging, to help off-set the non-bone-density-improving-tendancy of what has been my predominate activity: cycling (I try to blame my husband for the excess of cycling miles and deficiency in running/kayaking miles, but in the end, it is me who chooses to spend that time with him :) )
So......hopefully today was the first of our at least weekly meet-ups to walk for 30 minutes before work. Incredibly windless morning....-6C, and the glow from the greenhouses in the south was much brighter than any glimmer of light on the eastern horizon. That should change in a month!

Yoga 30:00 [1]

Hips and hamstrings.

Gravel Bike (Rail trail/Gravel) 2:25:00 [3] 28.99 mi (12.0 mph)

To Harrow then north. Someone said his toes were frozen and had had to stop to warm up his hands. So we circled back to the McCormick then home. I was using BarMitts and was sweating as I miscalculated and wore too many clothes.
Regardless, the hot tub felt good.

Jogging (Pavement) 11:00 [3] 1.0 mi (11:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Xodus trail

Trekking 25:00 [1] 1.5 mi (16:40 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Xodus trail

Jog then walk around the hood.

Oddly windless night. Low winds both yesterday and today.

Some people book a trip to Cuba to escape the brown Essex county winter. I booked a trip to Sudbury.
