Medel DM Uppland

A really fun race in great terrain. I started by spiking the first control, then was shaky to #2, and then left 2 in a totally weird direction despite telling Ross before the race how important it was to leave in the right direction. The could not relocate for a long time, despite visiting both #4 and #5 without realizing it. All in all, 5 minutes gone! I was caught by the guys starting 4 and 6 minutes behind me there. Ugh. Managed to get myself together and ran well the rest of the way, taking what I think was a good around route to #7 and then being clean in the second half of the course, except for a small hesitation at #12. Disappointing and surprising to have such a big mistake, but a nice feeling to bounce back from it. A number of people today made mistakes early and then just quit. I just don't understand that attitude and don't really have much respect for it.
