slept:9.0 shoes: Scott Kinabalu 2

managed to escape the house (snow had thawed) so did my usual Wednesday lunchtime session which was Nordic Walking. Still cold and the canal towpath was a bit slippy but I needed the fresh air.

Was going stir crazy stuck inside!

4 miles at a brisk pace.

REST DAY 1 [0]
slept:9.0 (rest day)

Rest day number 2. A good 48 hours rest will allow for some adaptation plus I'm still stuck inside the house because of the weather.

Very icy roads and lanes where I live.

Run - Specific Endurance 3:20:43 [2] 15.07 mi (13:19 / mi) +236m 12:42 / mi
slept:9.0 shoes: Inov8 Race Ultra 290

The third of my snowy runs.

This one was longer and followed a similar route to the others, in deep snow to Eccleshall and back on multi-terrain. I wore Yak Trax ice grips which are spot on in snow and ice, wore my race vest and carried trail running poles.

10 out of 10 for clothing:

Merino wool base layer, OMM Kamleika Jacket and Overtrousers which are superb! Windproof, waterproof and very comfy. No problem running in them. I was toasty warm throughout this run considering I was on my feet for 4 hours or so.

No niggles or sniffles.

I have completed 40 miles in three days which is almost the distance of that ultra I should have been doing this weekend but the weather put paid to that:

Friday: 13 miles
Saturday: 12 miles
Sunday: 15 miles

Total = 40 miles.

Feel fine, I'm not in bits or carrying any niggles. Will rest tomorrow.
