orienteering 19:23 [4] 2.4 km (8:05 / km) +55m 7:15 / km

MADO mini league at Frith Wood, ran orange (hehe!) to test my foot out, was fine once I got going, no pain at all. Very muddy on the paths and difficult to run but tried to go hard. Ended up more than halving everybody else's times....oops! So told Mike to put me down as non comp, its not fair to steal points from people doing the league!

orienteering (night score) 59:01 [3] *** 5.0 km (11:48 / km) +220m 9:40 / km
spiked:19/20c

WNL Frith Wood in the evening, didn't feel great and going slowly when I was out there, but seems I did better than I realised! Roughly 5km but quite a lot of climb, all on a ridge. Never found no16 and spent quite a long time looking for it. Other than that, good run, spiked controls, and good route. Came 3rd on raw score, behind Chris McSweeny and Andy Creber, much better than I expected! Should win on handicap as mine is much better than it should be!

athletics warm up/down 20:00 [3]

running intervals 10:20 [5] 2.4 km (4:18 / km)
slept:7.0 weight:62kg (injured) shoes: Nike Zoom Waffle

3 x 1km intervals on the track at Cheltenham. First two good, 4 secs down on pace I was aiming for but it was a very cold night. 4.20, 4.21, then towards the end of the second my toe clicked and was really quite painful. Its been feeling odd all week and didn't want to do any more damage, tried running the last one but just did a lap before stopping, better safe than sorry!

strength/conditioning (pilates) 10:00 [1]

Core stability stuff.

mobility (hurdle drills) 15:00 [2]

Could do most of them but foot hurt a bit on some of the bouncy tiptoe ones so left them out.

plyometrics 5:00 [5]

Bounding and stuff, mostly ok cos landing flat footed but left out hopping on left leg.

circuits 10:00 [4]

Circuits with the big boys! All in all a pretty hard but mostly good session. Carolyn told me I should get my foot checked out though, especially after being out for so long with a foot injury last winter. Am going to try and get an x-ray at Stroud tomorrow, though I really dont think it will show anything....just worried and dont want to do any more damage.

running long (PE practical) 25:52 [3] 4.3 km (6:01 / km) +130m 5:14 / km
slept:10.0 weight:62kg shoes: Asics Gel Orient

Felt quite unwell with stomach ache and headache last night and went to bed really early - felt better this morning though and tried an easy run from school period 5. Felt weird running around town during school time! Went down to Sainsbury's and up Dudbridge hill, the old Stroud AC '2 miler' route but along Merrywalks and up past Tescos, back down the footpath and up Gannicox to add a bit of extra distance!
