Walking 5 [2] 11.5 mi ( / mi) +1115ft / mi

Cloughton to Cayton Bay
Walked from Cloughton to Scarborough (for lunch) then decided to continue to Cayton Bay as it looked nice. It was, especially after the seafront crowds. Waited a half hour for the 7A, then got straight on an X93 at the station to rejoin the car.
A lovely few days discovering the coastal section on Cleveland Way,

Hawsker to Cloughton Wyke
Drove to Cloughton for the end of the day, then got the X93 back to High Hawsker (it was a bit late and very full). Rejoined the route via Robin Hood's Bay (coffee and crab roll) and Ravenscar, which were a bit of a contrast in terms of busy-ness. Scarborough Castle in sight by the end.

Runswick Bay to Hawsker
Rejoined yesterday's route with a plan to stop somewhere between Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, depending on the going and how we felt. Actually felt much better, which was probably the cooler temps. Via Sandsend (coffee), Whitby (lunch) and Hawsker Bottoms. Had the puff to get to RHB but thought tomorrow might be a bit short (!). Turning windy. Got the X93 back down the hill to Whitby and then the X4 to the campsite.

Saltburn to Runswick Bay
Got the X4 bus through Loftus and Brotton to sunny Saltburn then joined the Cleveland Way for the walk back along the clifftops. Via Skinningrove, Galli Howe and Staithes. Bit hot.

Walking 5:15:00 [2] 12.0 mi (26:15 / mi) +1640ft 23:14 / mi

After a 4.30 start we were in the North York Moors by 11.30 so parked at Saltergate on the A169 and walked round the Hole of Horcum to Levisham and Lockton, then back via Bridestones. Lovely day but a week too late for the best of the heather.
