Orienteering race (ACT Long Distance) 57:16 [4] **** 6.3 km (9:05 / km) +159m 8:04 / km
ahr:142 max:168 spiked:7/8c (injured) shoes: Mizuno Wave Diachi

Return to Slap Up Creek, not used since 2013 Aust Champs. A good area with lots of granite and subtle contours. As with yesterday, ran well within myself to protect injury. Only error was a largish one (+6 minutes!) on the long leg to 3. Drifted too far left and had trouble relocating in the vague contours with no real attack point. Finally found a termite mound and, combined with nearby gullies, worked out where I had to be. Ran a bearing and went pretty much straight to the flag. Very slow over the last few as Achilles started to complain.

Orienteering race (ACT Middle Distance) 42:25 [4] **** 4.64 km (9:09 / km) +63m 8:34 / km
ahr:144 max:181 spiked:18/21c (injured) shoes: Mizuno Wave Diachi

New map at Wee Jasper, masses of limestone ridges, boulders, and rockfaces in a generally open area. Really good area and happy with my run, apart from a few small errors. Ran well below best speed as didn't want to undo recent improvement in Achilles injury.
