Road Running 45:00 [3]

Another sunrise run on a beautiful frosty morning. I cut it short with a niggling feeling that I should get home. They decided to intubate my Dad to help him breathe so we went to the hospital to see him. Not much to do know but hope he can fight this bug.

Road Running 1:00:00 [4]

Flat road ride at home in Orillia. Weeanimal woke up at 3:30 am and therefore so was I. We watched a stunning sunrise over the lake and once she decided to crash again I took the opportunity to go for a run since I know I will be too tired later on. We will go to see my Dad this afternoon so hopefully he is still on the mend.

Note

Long travel day with Weeanimal as we got on a 7am flight from Geneva to come home. I got a call from my Mom yesterday saying that my Dad was in septic shock and things didn't look good. After spending 3 weeks in the hospital in France he was able to go home but was in the hospital in Orillia. He went into septic shock on the 12th and they discovered that he had two infections, e.coli and a super bug that I can't remember the name of. It's one of those ones you get in a hospital so who knows if it was in France or the week that he was here. Either way if he had not been in the hospital at the time for sure things would have been different. As it stands he survived the worst of it and is by no means in the clear but was much better by the time we got here.

Weeanimal was a trooper on the trip home. A 1 1/2 flight to Frankfurt, 2 1/2 hours in the airport and then a 8:15hr flight to TO. She didn't sleep a wink the whole time but was a real angel on the plane. So now we just take turns going to the hospital and supporting my Dad as he fights to get better.

Oh and today was his 70th birthday, hopefully there will be better ones in the future!

Trail Running 1:15:00 [4]

Felt pretty good running up to the Talabar and back across to the Pre Vernet. Great trails back down and around to the house. Hip is a little tight but I will try to work on that with some yoga today. Can't believe how much I love the Speedcross. It is super muddy out there since it rained all weekend and I had great traction. Also happy that running up there is not something that I dread like I did when I first got here. Actually I didn't think I would be able to run consistently up there but my legs must be getting stronger - thank God.

Yoga 30:00 [1]

Good Vinyasa flow class with a lot of focus on sun salutation technique and breathing that I sort of take for granted now. Good to refocus.
