Hike 3:00:00 [2] 12.0 km (15:00 / km) +60m 14:38 / km

Pretty miserable weather overnight with torrential rain but OK in the morning for breakfast. After a little beach exploration we started heading south. The first two inland sections of trail were pretty rough with wet vegetation and lots of jungle gym style sections and deep mud. After popping out onto the shore the rain really started putting our wet weather gear to the test. We walked along rock shelves and then a couple really nice beaches. We passed the headland after Skuna Bay at low tide (not passable at high tide) and also forded Calvin Creek at low tide which made it a knee deep crossing. Calvin Falls were pretty cool - about 4 metres high falling right onto the beach into a pool. As high tide came in later that evening we could see that crossing the channel at that time would be very deep if not a swim. The rain stopped and a few moments of partial sun and wind were enough to dry the gear out quite a bit. Since we had stopped pretty early the afternoon was spent playing beach bocce and frisby. It started raining again late in the evening.
