Hike 3:00:00 [2] 11.0 km (16:22 / km) +845m 11:49 / km

Macrae with Courtney and Milo. Summer has arrived 2-3 weeks early in the alpine. There are even flowers starting to bloom. I heard that a meter of snow melted during the heatwave (which should have taken three weeks). Thought about scrambling to the summit but Courtney changed her mind. Quite warm - it was 19 degrees when we started (which is pretty warm for that elevation at 9 am).

Bike 2:20:00 [3] 54.0 km (23.1 kph) +1415m

Parkway to the top... kind of a disappointing time as I didn't think I was lolly gagging. I'm getting old. Or it was hot and my ribs/right hip were limiting me a bit. Ribs weren't too bad actually but started getting some right hip flexor weakness halfway up. Riding down was less comfortable as a more upright position takes pressure off the chest.

Hike 1:30:00 [2] 6.0 km (15:00 / km) +440m 10:59 / km

Crowbar and Purple Haze with Courtney and Milo. First appearance of bad mosquitoes this year (and by bad these are no where near Ontario bad). Deep breathes hurt and couldn't have my backpack done up.

Paddle 1:00:00 [2] 6.0 km (6.0 kph)

Last Tuesday night session - Courtney can't get the boats on the roof by herself (Atsuko was borrowing a boat) so I came along. I was going to take it easy but ended up paddling harder than planned at times. Could push through the discomfort but seemed to hurt more afterwards.

Paddle 1:00:00 [1] 6.0 km (6.0 kph)

Thought I could try paddling... it felt OK for ten minutes, manageable for another ten, then definitely not pleasant. Felt a bit lightheaded from the pain.
