Was desperate to do something...as usual I launch straight in. About as far as I could run before feeling faint which is conveniently the time limit on the treadmill. Pip told me off for pushing myself too much...she's right but I don't like listening to it.

Fairly cruisey new temporary program (until I'm feeling more on top of things). Spent a little bit too much time talking so it took forever but I'm guessing that in between all that it probably took about an hour.

Spent half the day in bed at home (I was working though I promise) and half the day a bit on the 'not quite there' side at work. Sleep? No comment. It's too depressing.

After spending most of the morning in bed (unfortunately not asleep but desperately trying), had a very gentle walk round the block with Cameron in the afternoon but I still managed to feel nauseous and dizzy. Unfortunately I'm way too stubborn. But I did go back to bed afterwards (still no luck with sleeping but resting was nice).

Round the dirt track at OTH. Beautiful weather but I felt like absolute death. Had to stop a few times and reorient my head.

Finally sort of sleeping but feeling like death every time I wake up...and throughout the day. It's weird 'cause when I wasn't sleeping I actually felt okay and like I had some kind of energy but now I feel like I'm going to keel over just walking from one end of the house to the other.

Was gonna go for a run but woke up feeling like death...me and late nights do not go together right now. But yoga was awesome...I SO needed the stretch. Will have to make this a regular thing again. I'd forgotten how relaxing it is.

Round the dirt/mud track and up to the summit of OTH. Muddy so glad I wore my inov-8s. Felt pretty awful out there though. Either the effects of last night or running on a green smoothie is not a good idea...probably a combination of both.

Going through a new, temporarily easier, program with Pip. She was making it up as we went along. Felt really weak and dizzy.

Needed to do something and was going to walk outside but Pip wanted to keep an eye on me so treadmill it was. Set it on random and ranked up the incline. Wasn't too boring but only 'cause I was watching the cycling.

Tried another herbal sleep remedy last night...too early to tell. Slept on and off but felt weird this morning. Hopefully I can get a nap before the concert tonight otherwise I will keel over and die.

Slept for several hours...but only about 1 hour at a time. Woke up feeling like death, quite possibly the worst I've felt for ages. Feeling dizzy all day. Thank god for flatmates who cook you dinner, make you a hot drink, won't let you near the dishes and tell you to go to bed!

Just the Parnell/Remuera circuit. Bassett Road always kills me 'cause I keep thinking it's just round the next corner to the top...and then discover it's not! Felt slow and sluggish 'cause my legs felt tired but I felt really good afterwards.

Lincoln was late (slack) so one of the guys in the class started it (he's had to take the class before) borrowing some other dude's ipod with some very interesting heavy metal music on it! Once Lincoln arrived it was like he was making up for lost time by making the class SO intense. Don't think I've sweated that much ever!

Climbing at Extreme Edge with Chris after work. Can't believe how long it's been since I last went. It was really great fun so we're already planning our next session. Wasn't quite as crap as I expected I'd be but obviously I'm still pretty crap! It's surprisingly exhausting.

Walking round OTH and up to the summit in very strong winds. Was going to head out for a run but feeling much to shady and tired but couldn't sit still so walking seemed the best option. Thought I might get blown off the summit the wind was so strong!

Unusually the first half was easier than the second half. Distracted myself by counting the strokes it took for each 100 metres which seemed to make it feel like the torture was passing quicker! Seemed to work 'cause that would be one of my faster times.

Everything felt really hard and heavy today. So glad to be finished.

Damn, very bad night...didn't sleep much at all and kept waking up. Was wide awake from about 2:30am :(

From the gym round the Remuera/Parnell hills. Not fast but felt good and for once didn't need to stop for a breather. Wished I could have stayed out for longer but had to get to work and all that.

Note

This would have to be the first night in months I had a decent sleep (was about 6 hours uninterrupted sleep)...felt so good when I woke up.

Didn't feel up to leaving the house and going orienteering today so ran round the mud track around the edge of OTH. Felt slow and tired but better for getting outside. Couldn't sleep most of last night. It's so quiet here at night you could hear a pin drop. Will be interesting to see if I sleep any worse when the flatmates go away next week as I'm not good with being alone in strange places...hoping I'll get used to it soon.

Started out fairly slow but picked up speed in the last 800 metres. Felt pretty good.

Spent some time working on my shoulder stuff as well as the usual program. Again, feeling pretty good (although the shoulder is a bit sore as usual).

Slept okay last night...not great but I don't think I woke up over the night as I have been doing and was asleep for a respectable number of hours too. Let's see how I go tonight...

Tried to sleep in and failed (was wide awake by 2.30am and never got back to sleep) but made myself stay in bed and at least rest for once. This lack of sleep thing is getting a bit serious but have been given a CD by the chiropractor today which is, apparently, guaranteed to get me asleep within half an hour and keep me asleep - it shall be an interesting test tonight...
