Did quite a long warm up to make sure I could actually feel my toes before the start (it was a classic lovely Ballarat day of 6 degrees and drizzling, and I'd had to sit and wait for a few hours before my start)

Vic long champs. Did most of this ok, but I made some rather large wanders off my compass on maybe 3 of the longer legs, which cost me some minutes. Felt like I was going quite well at the start though and felt strong running, but then when I saw that Tash had caught me (by 4mins) I got a bit depressed and slowed down. Not that I didn't expect her to catch me - but it made me feel slow! So the second half of my race was a bit more meh and I probably wasn't as focused as I should have been.
