First run in the rain for a long while! Assumed that the rain would scare off some fair-weather exercise types and so ventured over to try Leckie Loop for first time in weeks - someone took 'my' Strava segment for the climb before Easter so wanted a go at reclaiming it. Mission accomplished :)

Week Two: Carleatheran and Scout Head trigs. Wind from the west today and so the first 45mins up to the first trig were a bit tougher than on Monday!

Today's sighting was a wheatear.

Trainers mostly fine as everywhere is so dry, but not the ideal choice for the terrain in the last part when I was a bit weary, took it all pretty carefully to avoid any ankle fiasco...

Week One: Carleatheran and Stronend trigs.

Not the Boston Marathon.....but a similar duration and with a lot more terrain bashing, pretty hard work at times. Up Carleatheran and then a (debut) visit to Stronend trig, glad I found a bit of sketchy quad bike track for some of it or I would still be wading through the marshy mossy tussocks I think. Definitely only a hill for a dry day! Back along the crags to finish at the flag above Gargunnock..

Glorious day and a nice strong tailwind all the way to Stronend. Which meant a massive headwind all the way home, ouch.

Thought why not follow the original plan for the day before flying to Boston, of 2miles warm up- 2miles marathon pace - 2miles warm down.

All seemed good, pace was a little bit of a shock to the system after all the slower running recently, but settled down into it well enough.

Felt better for the faster running, need to keep doing some each week I think.

So a day of 30mins flat running followed by a day off, should feel great then? Nope. Probably would have felt perkier if it had been rest day first.

Replaced the approx 15 mins of hard effort that would have been JK Sprint with only approx 10mins of hard effort - but that all uphill. Ran up from the track bend to the huts at good intensity, a mile at just over 10% average gradient. A little under 10mins for the effort.

Stuck with the 2hr-ish run for today from my original Boston plan....no need to make it the 26.2km road route I had intended though.

Very blowy up on the hill, good for viewing the wind turbines in action, been meaning for a while to take a closeup look. Also good to visit a trigpoint of course :)

Nice run and route - looking at the route profile maybe I will do it in reverse next time...
