Decided that the not-hill-race yesterday was a good enough excuse to avoid any massive trig-gathering epic today. Took in Carleatheran and then a nice long gradual descent all the way to the Touch Road. Mostly fun apart from the bit where I went full length on a nasty rubble track, quite sore.

Not The Gargunnock Hill Race

No Gargunnock Show or Hill Race today for the obvious reason, and not possible to run the full hill race route (farm v reasonably does not want people cutting through their yard at the moment). So started from the show field and ran the route as far as the gate at the foot of the scarp slope. Tried pretty hard but could tell it was not quite the same painful intensity as it usually is in the race!
About 50secs slower for this section than in the 2017 race which is the last time I ran it.

Decent effort for first 20mins uphill to catch up with MC and show the best routes to/from Scout Head trig. Then easy round the reservoirs loop, much windier than expected higher up....inevitably a headwind on the way up!
