WET at Whytecliff Park. Started the WET early so that I wouldn't have to run in the dark and I was glad I did. The course sent us straight through some of the greenest, rockiest stuff in the park. Thinking that I would mostly be on trails the whole way I didn't wear anything to protect my lower legs and they got scratched to hell. I also think that my Icebugs wouldn't have been completely out of line. I felt a bit tentative going down some of those rocks and logs in my trail runners.

BCMC trail up Grouse.

I didn't really feel like going over to Grouse Mountain this morning but since it was a beautiful day and Tuesdays and Thursdays are supposed to be my grind days, I didn't have much of an excuse. I decided to suck it up. When I got to the bottom of Grouse I decided that I was in no mood to put up with tourists on the grind so I took the BCMC trail instead. It was gloriously quiet. I saw 5 people (all coming down) the entire time. I had forgotten how much easier the BCMC trail is compared to the grind but I wasn't complaining. I did get a little lost at the top (again). Even though I tried to followed the trail markers very carefully I somehow ended up on a trail that had "No bikers. No runners." painted on boulders. Eventually I found my way to the chalet but I am still not sure where exactly the trail is supposed to go at the top.

Core Strength 45:00 [3]

I had planned on going swimming as an alternative to club run tonight ( I didn't feel like running after the weekend) but I forgot to check the pool schedule. By the time I realised that the public swim didn't start until 7 30 I was already out at UBC with my swimming stuff. Louise was nice enough to lend me some clothes and excercise paraphernalia which I took out to the grass in front of her apartment and did core exercises. Louise, Cara, and Kristian joined me for a few minutes when they were done their runs.

BCOC Long Distance- Thetis Lake

It was Thetis so it was thick. It was also wet. Once again no major errors just non-optimal route choices. I was tired after yesterday and right off of the start I could feel that my legs were heavy especially on the steep uphills and as a result I didn't do that much running off of the trails. After the first few controls I realised that I was really really hungry despite having eaten a good breakfast. When I finally reached the water control I tried to chug back tonnes of water to fool my stomach but it only kind of worked. Still, I enjoyed the race and the whole event.
