slept:5.0

Missed the aquathong on thw way home from San Diego but got to OC a bit eraly to meet M for masters. Concalls and two stops for emails and TAIS is not dumping us. Driving, working, traveling, packing finances. STRESS. Really dont want to race this wkend and just logging my workouts for the week on Friday. Behind.
Meet M on the way home for a masters session. Had to put in the lane lines so started late and special session b/c. Much better.

25yrds felt small and easy to keep up w/ Jim in the next lane. Had us swimming in no lane line section in the last 3 open lanes. Lots on my mind this week.

you can rest and still not be rested...Been thinking about this all week. Laying on the beach was great but by the end of the week I gave into staying up late and eating all manner of "food" set before me. This only gets complicated by the self imposed stress that I put in motion by booking another trip before Bolder for a race that was not planned... Im not complaining, just learning. So here it goes

I felt like I didnt push as hard as I could have at IMSG. Of course, that is what pacing is all about and I finished. There is always more you can do but just because you can..... I felt very fit right after the race (like the next week) but b/c I was scared I didn't set my sights on a race for a min of two weeks out. Then Auburn and the OC Du turned to AZ and a crap load of back and forth while I raced my fitness away in training. All the while trying to catch up on work and life tasks that were lower in priority on the lead up. yet feeling fit i wanted to RACE. What for anyways. I was focused on "a" "race" rather than "the process" so my motives, decision making and conviction was not behind the attempts to race. Some good lessons from the Toshiba install about following the cut sheets, documentation and resolving to align actions with values. That is power. That is movement and its always in the right direction. That is my rant and hopefully a learning lesson someday
7 AM

Running (steady + strides) 28:30 [3] 4.0 mi (7:08 / mi) +375ft 6:33 / mi
slept:4.0 weight:158lbs

Up most of the night. Lower back is tight and not enough horizontal time to get it to release or get rid of the DOMS. Legs and espc pulling upper body. Eating poorly.
Morning run at Bolsa to steady and the 3 strides. Hot out already and felt fatigued. Heavy on my mind.
