Orienteering race 32:38 [3]

British Middle Champs. 8th. Running ok, bit slower than I might have liked. Stayed ontop of the orienteering mostly. Lost 30secs at 9 where I should have made it easier for myself - or been more confident with my direction/not get distracted. My other big mistake, about 40s, was at 14 when I tried to make it easy, but in essence, it couldn't get much easier and I just made it harder - ran about 150-200m more than I should have here. Unsurprising then that GG cought me at 16. Bit scrappy after that on 20 and 21 as the pace intensified.

Orienteering race 31:00 [3]

2 Sprints at the British Sprint Champs. Ran the qualifier ok - just one mistake, around 30sec. About 45sec overall. The final was bad though. Too absorbed in descriptions at start, failed to see where the first control really was. Then not the best route at 2, and at 6 completely didn't spot the control and lost 30sec. Bad route on 19 compounded things and I was cought be Oli. Perhaps lost about 65secs overall.

Short and fast with Rach in Princes Street Gardens, took my map and compass to test (the new compass) out. New compass balls. Points to Moscow. Going to have to get a better one.

The usual. Snatches and core work plus step ups.

Cycling 40:00 [3]

Orienteering 16:00 [4]

Jegors sprint round Dean village. A good little course - lots of route choice. Stayed on top mostly, a few mistakes and missed the optimum on one leg. Felt really tired though in my legs. Need some good R&R before the weekend.

3 by 1km then 2 by 600 and 1 by 150m. Easy session in theory, but legs lacticing badly after 500m.

With Spongey, Nixon and Coombsy round the seat. Ran some strides (10 by 15sec) at the end.
