Orienteering race 56:49 [4] 8.9 km (6:23 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

November classic on Burley West, New Forest. Really fast area and quite hard physically because of the length. Started to loose concentration towards the end which cost me a bit of time.

Strength and Conditioning 1:00:00 [3]

Tried all the excercises from the sheet Kim gave us from the Start Weekend.

Wednesday Oct 29, 2008 #

Running long 1:10:00 [4] 12.0 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: Addidas trail

Wednesday run at Jan's house in Macclesfield.
Ran with Dad and John Britton through riverside park and back through the golf club, to the silk road and back. Ran over alot of muddy/uneven ground which was good.
Felt good all the way.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Warmed up before both races.
Jogged alot to keep warm between finishing the first and starting the second.

Orienteering 36:00 [4] *** 4.3 km (8:22 / km)
spiked:24/26c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw

Chasing sprint on Great Tower using a contour only map and using EMIT.
-Qualifier 1.9km in 14mins
-A final 2.4km 22mins

On the first course I ran really well and pretty much spiked all of the controls. I lost some time though when I realised my Emit brik had started to die so had to fully place it in at every control.
I was ahead of Charlotte by 2 mins and 4mins on Jamie and Duncan.

The second course I lost concentration towards the end and lost 2mins but still came back in first! Had to be careful because there were no codes and we were told there were more controls out there than on our course.
