Unfortunately Steve Feltbower injured his ankle on first leg (luckily not as bad as first thought), and so I was off in the mini mass start later on. Raced well for the first half, and was still with Duncan Archer coming into 9, but then I blew up and lost 6 minutes here. Wasn't pushing quite so hard after this. Really nice area though, and enjoyed the head to head racing while it lasted!

Started ok, but at least enjoyed the east of the burn. Really badly missed number 8, couldn't work it out. Pretty decent for the next few, but then a poor route to 14, and killer climb to 15 put an end to that run. Messed up 17 a wee bit, physically died to 18, and started cramping to 21. Walked/jogged home from there, not fit enough for the course/terrain. Enjoyed parts of it, but it got a bit repetitive and boring after a while which was a shame.

Hill Running race (Brockagh) 48:39 [5] 10.4 km (4:41 / km) +424m 3:53 / km

So for the first time a cap was put on numbers for this race, hopefully it's just a one-off! But I'm sure I gained a few places due to this. I currently don't seem to have much on these hill races, so I will have to get back into a strong training routine now that i have no more weekends away planned after the Scottish, and see if I can get back to where I was a few months ago! I struggled enough on the uphill, but yet again I got a stitch on the downhill and was unable to push hard. I think I held position on the downhill, which when compared to last year where I gained between 10 and 15 places is a bit poor! Still happy with a top 10 position of 8th!

Good to see Torben get his first Imra victory, maybe I'll be challenging him soon :)
