XC season over, time for running on maps fun. Some of Scotland's finest housing estates, tired as expected but very relevant for next weekend and fun.

Inter Counties XC, Loughborough. Took a while to decide if I was going to run this when selected as should have been supporting RR at the orienteering. Turns out I made the right decision as we wouldn't have had a team without me and RR wouldn't have qualified even if I'd won (and it doesn't sound as though I missed out on a lovely area...). Frustrating poor result though, end of a training block and hadn't eased at all so just going to make sure I take the rest required now. Never really got racing from the start but was sensible not burying myself with more important things coming up and just got myself home in training mode for the team. Positive, for the 3 week in a row I didn't get outsprinted in the final straight! Scotland East still a decent 10th/44 overall with half the team not performing anywhere near their best.

Back on the track. 10x200m with big rests. Couple fast but the rest controlled helping to pace others on a bigger session. Nice to bring in a bit of speed without hopefully trashing the legs.

Peebles sprint training in the sun. Split the course from recent event into two sections and just ran easy between. Lots of fun, good course/area.
