Running 6:36:06 [3] 31.0 mi (12:47 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 295

Bandera 50K. #105 out of 229 total finishers. Really very pleased with the run. The core-area discomfort was there, but at a certain point it kind of maxed out and didn't get any worse. I'd call it "manageable" discomfort. My half-way split was right at 3 hours, which was shockingly brisk given my low, low expectations foing in. Everything felt really pretty good. Energy level was excellent throughout. Stomach was happy. Feet got a few hot spots because the Roclites have maybe a bit too much room (gotta get the slightly bigger insole), but no serious blisters. The outsoles were wonderfully sticky on the rocks and the toe guards got a work out & performed very nicely. Really good shoes. Just a tremendous day out on the trails.

Running 29:45 [3] 3.2 mi (9:18 / mi)
shoes: Adizero Aegis

Hermann loop. Shake out run before Bandera. Languid pace - mixed in a few short walks to keep it easy. Legs felt fresh. It'll take fresh legs and whole lot more for any sort of success Saturday. Going to be a challenge. Bring it on.

Running 52:13 [3] 5.5 mi (9:30 / mi)
shoes: Adizero Aegis #2

Lunch trails. Green out & back with one Endless Loop. Hit the turnaround at 3 miles in 26:35 but pulled back quite a bit after that. Core tightened up a little and I didn't want to push it. Another gorgeous day.
