Note

Nice to see Lucas Basset take la médaille d'or. I remember him overtaking and beating me in a middle distance five years ago, a good kid. Also nice to see Spain get silver. Wow!

Go on the Irish!

Interesting day. Booked a flight to Sweden, then did some other stuff, took ages to get out the door. Keywords for the evening: Drive, Woodstock, burrito, hitchhiker, Tibetan monastery, hippies, Lama, ice-cream, The Big Takeover, camp-fire, smores, sleep, thunder-storm, fly-sheet, water.

Woodstock is so bourgeois these days...

Sort of...

The Big Takeover played in the building to the left. There were tiger lilies everywhere.

Pottering about FDR SP after work. Amazing how much tarmac they spilt on roads and carparks.

My car tyres no longer hum at me after getting a cracked spindle and some other stuff replaced, all for the price of a pigg röd Volvo.

*** JWOC Athletes Lighter than Air ***

A stomach bug has struck numerous athletes at the Junior World Orienteering Championships in Rumia, Poland. Having lost 3-5kg each, some girls involved now have negative weight. Unaware of the irony, the Swedish coach said, "We must think positive", but the athletes are having trouble remaining in contact with the ground. Sources say fatter competitors are praying for significant headwind.
