Hiking 53:40 [3] 3.0 mi (17:53 / mi) +291ft 16:23 / mi

Hike on the condo grounds:

Did some work painting in the condo today, rather than a long hike on the trails. Instead, an after-dinner walk on the condo grounds seemed to be better than nothing.

Up the Veda, bushwhack to The Finger and back to Reservoir Road:

It's been a while since I've been on the The Finger, so this was a chance to keep it short, but make an interesting loop by combining the Veda and The Finger. Trail is very dry, so dry that I didn't see any salamanders, nor anyone else, either.

Kennedy Park Hike:

Met a dog walker, a hiker and a runner with her dog.

Also spotted four salamanders.

Did a wee bit of uphill running today, nothing too steep, nor very long. We'll see how the knee likes that later.

BNRC Trails - Brother / Charcoal / Burbank / Old Baldhead:

Tried out some new Icebug studded orienteering shoes today. Went up the steep part of the Charcoal with some vigor, but didn't kill myself. The shoes have very good traction on just about everything, including rocks.

As I passed by Monks Pond, I noticed a more than half a dozen folks sitting around doing nothing and then I noticed a woman a bit away from the others, with a backpack, a sure sign of a group leader, most likely from Kripalu. After passing those sitting on rocks, logs, or the ground, I met a guy standing who was also wearing a backpack. So I said, "This must be the forest bathing group, right?" He replied, "Yes, that is correct," with a wry smile on his face.

Spotted only one salamander.
