Bike - Recumbent (East Granby Rail Trail) 1:03:00 [1] 14.1 km (4:28 / km) +35m 4:25 / km
shoes: Slipstream

Ride on the trails with Hayden - mostly paved, a bit of rough loose ballast north of Copper Hill Road, then back to paved on up to quarry. Loose traprock beyond that so we opted to turn around. Nice overcast morning for an easy ride...

Run - Trail (Soapstone) 48:41 [3] 6.2 km (7:51 / km) +140m 7:03 / km
shoes: Salomon TR2

Very muggy - glasses fogging before even leaving. Easy pace run, distance measured with GPS but feels farther than 6.2 Perhaps I need to measure the sampler, again perhaps the 6.1 I measured in gmap is off....

Note

10 weeks to US Champs... Anyone driving down from New England fancy sharing ride and/or accomodations??

Note

found a photo of me on Pan Mass crossing Orleans Marsh. If memory serves, that would have been about 15 minutes before the spokes let loose.

Run - Road (North Eagleville) 13:52 [3] 3.0 km (4:37 / km)
shoes: Adidas Response Trail XI

to/from shelter falls, calf muscles complaining on the way out - might be Rosstopheritis

Run - Trail (Shelter Falls) 35:18 [3] 6.75 km (5:14 / km) +110m 4:50 / km
shoes: Adidas Response Trail XI

Same route as Monday, not as brisk, but felt like a better overall pace. Still winded at the end. Less time trying to relocate the trail by Rt44 (blazed on trees, but indiscernable on the ground - I went off route a few times on Monday)

Run - Road warm up/down (North Eagleville) 14:39 [2] 3.3 km (4:26 / km)
shoes: Salomon TR2

to/from Shelter Falls

Run - Trail (Shelter Falls) 38:35 [3] 6.75 km (5:43 / km) +110m 5:17 / km
shoes: Salomon TR2

Felt very brisk for first 12-15 minutes, then felt 'forced', but pushed as best I could anyway, then hard the last 5 minutes. A good outing. The cooldown was pretty lame though - I was spent...
