Black vomit.... oooh yeah! Time to go see the doctor.

Mountain Running race (Camaderry) 47:25 [4] 8.5 km (5:35 / km) +522m 4:16 / km
shoes: Inov8 MudClaw 270 1st

Feeling not too bad thismorning I picked up Ciara and we headed down to Wicklow. Ciara wasn't appreciative of the aroma of my potatoe waffles. Ate and drank all the way down, but nothing major.

Follows a graphic story of my stomach as my race was uneventful.

Got down there, got a bit exited, couple of sips of coffee for a boost, then I went and warmed up. Done a few drills and bits and realised my tummy wasn't right. I retched a few times just before the race.

So the race started, the first section was forestry track, which levelled off and then got steep again. The boys were all dogging eachother (although they will claim it was a tactic), but they were just too slow, no-one wanting to break rank. I threw caution to the wind and ran off at running pace, knowing I was going to be slow on the uphill anyway, same as glenariff. Sure enough I slowed when it got steeper, but I was really struggling with my stomach. When I got up to the flat section midway and sped up a bit, my stomach went again and some more dry retching. Made it to the top and took off downhill. Took a couple of guys, but I had to stop near the top of the forestry track, my stomach had reached tipping point and out came some of the black stuff, no not Guinness.

So that's it, I'm finally going to the doctor. First it was bad constipation, next my appendix, then I can't eat wheat without getting sick and now I'm vomiting what appears to be blood.

Running 29:00 [3] 5.7 km (5:05 / km)
shoes: Asics Hyperspeed 3

Really nice evening, just felt like going for a run. Went out the tow-path with Seaínín on the bike. Just ran at 6min/km speeding up to about 4 min/km to get the sweat going.

Note

I think I may have exhausted what new things can be done in Barnetts for nav training. Will have to take a break to think up some new versions.
