Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]

Orienteering race 39:00 [5]

EOC relay 1st leg for NOR 1.

Failed to bring my team safely through the 1st leg...

I started out good by focusing on myself and picking my own forkings the first 2 controls, before the field came back together approaching the 3rd control. Was with the first teams to control nr 4 and took some time to look at the long 5th leg while running behind some other teams. Felt stressed and the others seemed a bit undecided where to go. ANd it looks like they were aiming for the straight choice over the hill. I felt this was a bad choice and decided to go right around the hill. But I was too fast in my decision to leave the others. I ran out in the wrong direction (90 degrees) and did a hugh parallel mistake. And it stressed me too much that I had done someting alone and that I could not understand what I saw around me that I never took that necessary re-thinking when I finally find out were I was. Therefore I ran back to were I had planed to run and continued on that plan which also turned out to be the wrong routechoice. So instead of staying calm and rethink my decisions I lost almost 4 minuts and we were out of the game. From then on I was all alone and eventhough I only did some minor mistakes the rest of the way, I had destroyed all our changes - not fun at all.

Ida and Heidi fought bravely, but due to my bad decision making to the 5th control we never got the chance to fight for anything. And I am really sorry for that. I know we can be up there fighting, and I know we will to better next time. I will learn my lessons from this relay and stand stronger on the start line next time I get such an opportunity.

Orienteering race 1:25:30 [4] 10.3 km (8:18 / km) +410m 6:55 / km

EOC long distance final - 24th position.

I was very careful the first 3 control, and did not choose the fastest way out of control 3, but very satisfied overall until control nr 8. To the 9th I took the wrong routechoice and got a very steep hill to climb. And to the 11th I did the same, and chose a too steep climb. On these two legs I loose quite some time aswell as getting really tired. I struggled hard the rest of the course to keep it together technically and I loose about 2 min on mistakes on this last part. Anyway a good performance. Taking the wrong routes are part of the game, and to be able to fight with the best women I need to run faster than I was able to do today.

Orienteering race 1:01:30 [4] 6.3 km (9:46 / km) +245m 8:10 / km

EOC long qualification. Stable and good performance. One bad passage to the 7th and stood way too long before I manage to decide which routechoice to take to control 10. The rest was good, even with heavy legs from the sprint.

7th position in heat A and safely qualified for the final.

Orienteering race 15:21 [5]

EOC sprint qualification. Good performance, tough physically. A lot of routechoices but mostly longer legs and therefore you had to run fast all the time.

7th position in heat C and safely qualified for the A final.

Running warm up/down 45:00 [1]

Orienteering race 15:30 [5]

EOC sprint final. 14th position.

Many tricky routechoices, and often hard to see all possible routechoices due to artificial fences. Took a bit too much time to consider the first difficult routechoice and lost 15 sec eventhough I took the best route (hesitation and standing still). After that I found a good flow in my technique and made few mistakes. Only the routechoice to control nr 7 was bad (did not see the best route at all). Also lost some valuable time up the steep hill to the 2nd last control. The best girls pushed really hard here, and I was tired....

Satisfied with my performance eventough it was a pitty I did not see the best route to control 7, but not many girls got it all right. Nice to see that my speed is good enough to fight for top 10 positions.

EOC-relevant long distance training in Hohwald - course setter Matthias Niggli.

A bit heavy legs from yesterdays 4x4-intervals and a bit tricky into some of the controls without markings in the forst, but a good training anyway to train the destions between road-running and terrain-running as well as considering the climb on different routechoices.

Fun training, but tough and warm

Got stuck in green twice (to the 13th and 14th control), the rest was ok. And in the end I also got really tired

World Cup Sprint Relay in Poland

I ran last leg for NOR 1 in todays sprint relay. I started out a little bit behind the leading teams, but catched up with the runners going out ahead of me approaching control 2 and 3. A small mistake out of control 6 (10 sec), and running around a hedge out of 7th which I could have crossed (5 sec). Also a bad route to control 14. The rest was ok, but I did not have the speed to climb in the field and was unable to improve the position I was sent out in. In my team Ida Bjørgul ran the first leg, Eskil Kinneberg the 2nd and Øystein Kvaal Østerbø the 3rd.
