shoes: Inov8 Race Ultra 290

Whale Rock
Anti-clockwise loop after picking up the controls around the start first. Good run through the bush with Chris shadowing me to 4. More diificult to pick a route back home through the streets. Ended up at 18 with over 6 mins to spare sp decided to do the out and back to 25 and 13 full well knowing I'd be late but still better off. In retrospect it mauy have been better to get 17 and 16, not sure. Gross 540, net 510.

Route 9,23,2,8,30,10,15,20,6,24,14,5,22,12,27,4,28,11,29,19,26,21,1,18,25,13

Something Different - Hard Long
Large Big Foot turnout at this local Newcastle event due to some good advertising. A very (too?) detailed map from Dennis Lyons with a complex track network. Struggled with the first two trying the understand the map. Steady(ish) through to 15 where I was on the ridge but too far north and hit he track to the west before relocating off the creek. Confused between 18 and 19 where I was standing on top on a big embankment but couldn't find it on the map (too much yellow to see it clearly). Two attempts to dind the last control. A another great Newcastle event and well worth the effort of getting there.
