Cannop Ponds - first leg for NOC Robin Hood.

Not a bad run technically, off the pace though and got left behind quite quickly. People trickled past throughout as they missed their gaffles.

21st on my leg; team ended up 14th overall.

Orienteering race 2:09:32 [4] 19.22 km (6:44 / km) +486m 5:59 / km
(injured) shoes: Integrator March 2015

Brierley (Pludds) and New Beechenhurst.

Trudged around, lost a bit of time in a couple of places but no disasters. Unfortunately never really moving quickly enough and felt spent already at the road crossing. More longer runs needed.

#2 Hesitant; contours didn't seem to agree with my picture [10]
#3 Bit low, looked in a couple of wrong holes to no avail before bouncing off veg boundary [25]
#4 High line due to mirage veg boundaries [10]
#6 This looked tricky, had spotted Ben Windsor ahead so headed in quickly hoping that I'd spot him leaving it but missed both him and the control [120]
#7 Think this route was ok?
#12 Rather slow down and up the steep slopes [25]
#13 Too far east initially [15]
#14 Contouring was slower than climbing to the top path [30]
#16 Busy road crossing saw me exceed the allowance... [20]
#18 Had another drink and a bit of a wobbly line [20]
#20 Stupid straight route [25]
#21 Indecisive over route, flagging physically [30]
#22 Ditto [60]
#25 Spotted Maliphant catching me; kick up the backside physically for the next few.
#28 Had taken different routes to Maliphant on the last couple, he was just ahead heading down the hill out of #27, but I recognised that we were too far west and rectified; he disappeared [25]
#32 Tired, couldn't make sense of the map, eventually bounced off last control (!) [90]
#34 Blundering [15]
#35 Ditto [30]

23rd of 30 (+2)
