Note

Some inspiration for training: a UTMB 2014 teaser.

I saw the helicopter fly over several times while I was running through the beautiful area shown around the 1-minute mark but I didn't make the final cut!

The spectacular aid station on that ridge is Arête du Mont Favre between Lac Combal and Courmayeur. It was managed by the Chamonix Rotary Club, who were partners with the charity I was running for, À Chacun Son Everest. They were watching for me and gave me an enthusiastic greeting. I mentioned that I was planning to take a nap soon; they were very concerned and tried to talk me out of it. :) Really glad I did though.

Tour de Glen Haffy from Innis Lake Rd. dead end - looking for hills close to home. I found a few but there's nothing remotely Alp-like around here. It was nice to be out in the lush summer woods - a little warm but not too buggy if I kept moving. I had a nice chat with Mrs. BGY and Ms. BGY as they drove past on Coolihan's hill.

I tripped 5 times and went down once because I wasn't lifting my feet enough. Not sure where that came from since I somehow managed to lift big Hoka feet for 50 miles without falling at Cayuga. I feel like I need more sleep, which is weird because I've been catching up on sleep over the past few nights. I went to Guelph and picked up Mocha for her midweek home visit so I know I will sleep well tonight. :)

I turned off my GPS for part of one Coolihan's hill repeat so data was adjusted slightly.
