cycling (road) 45:00 [3] 17.0 mi (2:39 / mi)

Quite a raw windy day with crazy periodic snow squalls - not particularly inviting for cycling. However, after another frustrating interaction with Canada Post (the package I tried to send March 27 to the Girl in Yellowknife, made the 2 blocks back to my house in 3 weeks. And now I have to pay for the privilege of trying to do it all again!!), despite the icy wind I went for a ride - to cool off:)
7 PM

canoeing (Humber) 1:47:00 [3] 13.0 km (8:14 / km)

Got in a paddle from home down past Susie's before the temps dropped drastically. The wind was certainly picking up but luckily it was behind us. Saw several muskrats, a beautiful blue heron, some kingfishers, a red-tailed hawk, and some deer, but not another human:)

Deed:
- designed a fitness video project for a very bored but normally keen student

cycling (road) 1:05:00 [3] 25.0 km (2:36 / km)

It was forecast to be a wet crappy day but nothing happened. It was grey but not cold, not windy, not rainy. Got out for a ride on quiet roads. I saw as many single cyclists as cars; 9 in an hour. Strange but nice.

Deeds:
- dropped off baked goodies for Tman and housemates, and flowers for the workers

trail Run (HVtrail) 40:00 [3] 5.0 km (8:00 / km)

Still windy and chilly this morning but bright. I ran the trail and didn't see anyone except the doggie people in the field in the park. When I finished a cop pulled up to the park parking lot gate, parked and actually turned off the vehicle. Then he got out and walked around Glasgow Rd. I think. Presumably he was on park patrol to make sure people weren't gathering or playing football or something.
11 AM

core strength.flexibiity 1:10:00 [3]

bosu balances, planks, push ups, ab/back ex.
long stretch

Deed:
sent my mother flowers
baked and shared more hot crossed buns, and eggs I coloured:)

orienteering (HVtrail) 40:00 [3]

Damn nippy out there today with that north wind! After another baking spree - hot crossed buns - I set out to check my flags and add some new ones for Kevin and Gunda on the east side of the map. I must say I'm getting to know the Valley and area very well and there are lots of steep, deep ravines, and lots of deer runs. Disturbed several deer today, and a wild turkey and a spruce hen - scared the bejeesus outta me!

Note

Kind of a rest day. Rode to Susie's and then up the valley, with my broom bungeed to my bike frame, to the paved trail to sweep up all the horrible glass. I may have looked a little bit like a witch I think:)
You wouldn't exactly want eat off the pavement now, but you're a lot less likely to get a flat. That was my deed of the day, along with shopping for Susie, which was so stressful!
