Sag' Bay: Kelly Weber Trails eaaarly morning cruise:
Trails are rugged and steep in places - reasonably good training. Before coffee and breakfast - not really used to this yet. On the other hand, it is beautifully serene in the woods and on the Bay.

kayaking 44:20 [2] 2.18 mi (20:20 / mi)

Testing the Waters in my single kayak (Sag Bay)
It has been a while - nice and calming!

Before Lunch to Thompson Forest.
Easy relaxed pace, but sweating like a pig....

Road Running 37:47 [3] 5.03 mi (7:31 / mi) +67m 7:13 / mi
shoes: Altra dark gray (Torin 4)

Dover Pub Run (Mt Vernon loop)
Small group because of wet weather - but magically the rain stopped during our run.
No warm-up beforehand, so it was hard until mile 2 with all the uphills. Finally caught up with Dan and Chris, and was glad to be able to slow down a bit. Feel exhausted after all the miles since Sunday morning.

Enjoying the hills along the cool Oyster River.
Cruising along the cool spots to CW and through the two Fosses. Already hot when I started and 86 when I finished! Oughh! Legs were fine after yesterday, so starting the week with a nice long run. They were a bit heavy on the hill workouts; but other than that: It's just fun running trails, no matter what....

Trail running race 2:41:48 [3] 18.28 mi (8:51 / mi) +584m 8:03 / mi
shoes: Topo MT3

Gunstock 30k
Good race on a hot day. I went relaxed on the first of 3 loops. But I slowed down on loop 2 , understandable with the rising sun and temps. Then 3rd loop meant intermittent walking on the steep hills - a preview of Loon? But the salt pills and the boiled potatoes dipped in salts saved me from getting cramps. After mile 17, I ecstatically cruised home - down the Maple trail and passed numerous folks, including at least another contender on the 30k.
15th out of 193, and likely 1st in M60+ (results are still evolving!)
There were also a 10k, 50k and an 80k all happening on the same 10k loop. Pretty much all on nordic ski trails plus a loop through the arena (same as the O Master's Champs from 2019)
Several racers on the 50k and 80k gave up and may be eventually be listed on the 30k if they finished the first 3 loops.
