Hike 1:45:00 [2]

property walk with open space commission folks on the mountain. I was pretty sore by the end of this and ended up icing quite a bit after.

Note

first golf outing of the season at Simsbury farms. Golf went well, but I got amazingly tired after about 5 holes and struggled with tired legs and back. two pars and a birdie in first five holes, but lost it after that.

Gym 1:00:00 [3]

Rhonda's morning circuit class - half an hour on the bike, 15 minutes on treadmill, and various pilates exercises. Went well.

Hike 40:00 [2]

moderately brisk stroll over at Peoples state forest-maybe 85%. Best day so far with the knee.

cycling 41:40 [2]

On the exercise bike with the paper. Definitely improved range of motion, and picked up the resistance one level.

Tuesday Apr 10, 2007 #

cycling 25:00 [1]

reading the paper on the exercise bike.
A fair amount of strain up my right quad, angling up toward the hip. A little more swollen in the knee today. Off to PT later this morning

cycling 30:00 [1]

reading the paper on the exercise bike. Kind of painful in the lower quad. Otherwise ok.

Rowing Machine 10:00 [2] 2.0 mi (5:00 / mi)

Shortened stroke, to avoid bending the knee, and taking it easy. Feel the strain along right quadriceps despite trying not to put any weight on it.

Note

A couple of walks around the back yard today, one with Mike Flynn, who will come with his excavator when it dries out and smooth out a couple of meadows for me out of the areas that were logged in November.

golf exercises 20:00 [1]

Just the ones that don't involve knee work.

cycling 5:00 [1]

easy on the exercise bike. Bending is difficult, but tolerable.

Hike 30:00 [1]

a couple of trips to the mailbox; one to the little pond (harder). Flat is fine. Uphill moderately challenging. Downhill is difficult and ouchy.
