Easy spin on the bike...
Minnewanka + Tunnel Mtn and out to 1A return. Felt pretty sluggy - legs heavy...but otherwise a great ride in stellar sunny hot conditions!

Left foot arch still tender, not sure what the hell is wrong there...Damn I hate getting old...

Was feeling pretty sluggy today and didn't manage to finish my workout - probably still a bit tired from PF still. After a good workout, the body was actually feeling pretty good...but on the start of the 4th interval, my legs were feeling quite heavy and not recovering as much as the body, so I decided to pull the plug - probably a good call.

Easy warmup/down...felt quite tired at the start, but felt better after 45min of running...Left foot arch was sore after the run...not sure what this is, but will swap run tomorrow for bike ride instead.

First week of taper is the worst for me...my body fatigue is coming out now since I'm been cutting training the past week- As well as all the little aches and pains I presume. Things should turn around on Tues/Wed or so...

Body felt better than expected - still a big sluggish from the weekend, but overall, happy with the speedy recovery...

Used poles to get a 'handle' on the feeling again - I haven't run much with them this year, but figured it would be good to get some time with them. I use some older Swix CT2, cut about 125cm in length - I switched the straps to the old school loop ones (lighter), and trimmed the ski baskets leaving only the carbide tip (rollerski tips work well too)

Easy run warmup/down at Canmore Nordic Centre - lots of action with 24hr of Adrenaline coming up on the weekend.

Figured I'd test out some new shoes today, and ran with XAPro 5, which offer a softer sole than the XAPro 3D - The fit was quite good in the heel and midfoot. The toe box is quite roomy for my narrow feet, but I wasn't floating too much - then again, the run was pretty tame in term of technical terrain.

Easy warm up/down to the gym + extended loop - legs felt a bit battered, but not bad.

Note

PV took a day off...

Awesome massage - got the kinks out of the legs, and the knee is feeling better again. Think I'll get Graston treatment to get rid of the scar tissue forming on the knee cap.
