Better poles or better size? 170 sounds long for you. I’m at 167.5. I know that because I just got new poles and we measured. As it happens, the sales guy recommnenddd the kv+ and I got the tornado blues. $300+ !!!! Crazy. But I’m a sucker when it comes to gear.

I raced with them last weekend and they we’re fine. Can’t say I felt anything magically better than my swim poles.

I think you could be my intelligent, sober doppelgänger. I've got the same KV+, but they didn't have 167.5 in stock 4 years ago. They're noticeably better than the Fischers. 170 are too long (I'm 6'), they're carbon, but heavier and all in all just cumbersome. The KV+ are perfect.
I'm also a big believer in spend on quality once and not go cheap, grumble and buy twice.
