After seeing that maze, I think attempting that is very brave! I'd probably still be wandering around in there. :-)
BTW, in looking at your Iceland photos again, I was surprised at how tall the forest was at one of the event sights. Our guide told us the Icelandic joke was: "What do you do if you get lost in an Icelandic forest? Stand up!"
Corn maze was a blast, once I got used to the scale. I just had a magnifier, no glasses, figuring it would be like a sprint, but the detail of the passages was pretty tiny, thus my rating of intense. :-)
Yes, the forest on the hillside on the Long day was one of the dense areas, SE of Reykjavik. I didn't want to get lost in those spruces (if that's what they were)!!!
On one drive near Gullfoss we went through Sellfoss, where they manufacture Skyr; and I think the industrial size greenhouses are close to there too where they grow their tomatoes and such.
We did go through Selfoss on Friday and again on Sunday, and I did see some greenhouses. (And I loved Skyr!)
Enjoy your trip out West, and good luck on the courses!
