walking (treadmill incline) 27:46 [1] 1.34 mi (20:43 / mi) +107m 16:36 / mi

Foot's been weird, so I did a slower pace but still tried to have an ok incline.

strength 33:00 intensity: (7:00 @0) + (22:00 @1) + (4:00 @2)

Good strength session--

-- lightweight T/row/triceps
-- dumbbell bench press/inclined bench press
-- bicep curls
--lateral raises
--hamstring curls
--some light single-leg leg press, since knee (or left knee?) felt weird.

Note

Accidentally picked up a kitten from the sidewalk on the way home from the gym! There was a group of a few people who said the kitten had been there a few days alone, and nobody else was in the facebook group where they talk about giving them to a rescue/TNR'ing them. I thought it was only gonna be for one night, but it's hard to figure out logistics to get them checked into the rescue, so now I have a little tiny cat in my apartment. Way harder than I would've guessed! They can eat wet kitten food, but still too young to be unsupervised anywhere else in my apartment besides my one bathroom where I'm keeping them. Not the best week for this, since I'm also starting a new experiment at work! Could've had an appointment to drop them off if I hadn't already had pre-scheduled mandatory stuff at work, whoops... Cat!

PT, at PT. Feeling sick! Head feeling gross, and didn’t even do anything intense, but walking to/from PT and doing the PT felt bad. (Not for my knees though, mostly, except my patellar tendon on single-leg leg press, which is ok/allowed.) somehow fruity pebbles isn’t a terrible food to eat when I feel sick, which is convenient bc I forgot how good they are! And my ferritin is the highest I’ve ever seen it, and officially optimal! Great to cross something off of the list of potential causes :) And had a progress meeting at work and got positive feedback, so nice to look back and see that I’m accomplishing things despite what feels like a lot of difficulty focusing/workday naps.

Morning PT.

Also got blood drawn today to confirm ferritin's now in the optimal range after the iron infusion :) (They had to wait several weeks so it wasn't artificially raised by the infusion, had time to get absorbed/turned into other important stuff, etc.)

Note

Still tired, more stomach discomfort/pain/low appetite/fatigue/nausea. Did a short walk in the morning. Continuing to work on my parsley-pesto spaghetti. Had some baked fish I wanted to put with it as a protein but couldn’t manage to eat it, hopefully can finish on a higher appetite day bc I usually need more protein! Had some fruity pebbles instead, which felt a bit silly, but easier to eat.

Also: Lauren Fleshman’s book was available on my library app, and I finished it! I’d never put together the whole trajectory of her career, but this book did that + put it all into context. Love her, and this reminded me how cool it is I have an autographed copy of a oiselle catalog in my room!

strength 8:00 intensity: (4:00 @0) + (4:00 @1)

Balance things and a bit of upper body, which got moved into the room I usually use :)

around-the-worlds, marching holding a weight up, biceps/overhead press on bosu.

Also went to Aldi today for a small shop. Not feeling great. My stomach hurt a bit again, but I don't think it was worse after the gym.

Note

More stomach pain, this time not till later in the day—so I guess good!

Walked outside a few times but with a mask and kept windows closed.

For the last 2 mornings I’ve woken up with stomach pain even with the medication, so trying Tylenol this time to see if it helps.

Freezer progress: had un-frozen my parsley pesto, now have a huge bowl of spaghetti with that + peas! And finished the bread I don’t like! I think I’m gonna try to go for under $200 for this month’s food costs, probably only doable if I keep eating down the stuff i have. Which is great motivation!

Walked to and from a meeting today with one of my N95 masks I haven’t used in forever, bc of the smoke. Definitely smelled it much less, and happy to spend the rest of the day inside!

First part of knee PT while on the phone w Aetna about their (stupid) online claim form that doesn't get processed within the deadline and doesn't give a confirmation of why it was/wasn't processed... But checked that item off my to-do list at least!

strength 11:14 intensity: (10:08 @0) + (1:06 @1)

Second portion of knee PT, plus some foot/calf strength, while waiting for some test code to finish running for work!

Note

Another not-great day! Still stomach pain/fatigue/nausea, and a little bit of headache later in the day. Stomach hurt more when I walked to work/home. I did manage to get a doctor's appointment, where they gave me a prescription that shouldn't interfere w iron absorption, and they referred me to a GI specialist (probably a multi-month waitlist). I guess the good news is I got a head start compared to if I'd had to wait for the results of the celiac test (probably like 3 weeks from now), which isn't guaranteed to have new information anyway. Kind of tired of this, also kind of wish my symptoms would go away till after July 1, when I have my new health plan with a lower out-of-pocket max ;P

Edit: should probably try to write something positive so my parents don't get worried--the good news for the day is I just finished Roth-converting the last of my IRA money! Took care of most of it last year, so won't be too much in extra taxes this year :)

Gonna start focus on doing knee exercises and take a break from the back ones for a bit.

Walking around outside today--was Porchfest in West Philly, and my friend and I (and her tiny dog!) walked around the park area and listened to music from afar.

Was feeling pretty sick to my stomach again today, nurses' line recommended I get back in touch w my pcp's office, which I probably will do, but in the meantime will take tylenol.
