orienteering 1:40:00 [2] ***

Ft Lev Adventure series event. I jogged through the MTB orienteering course and some of the regular course. The full event was a mini-adventure race with some paddling, paint ball shooting, and some other stuff. I wasn't really up for all of that, so I just did some running and finding controls.

It was fun, but it was also warm and humid. I forgot to bring my headband, so I had lots of sweat in my eyes. That wasn't fun, but I guess I won't forget a sweatband for the rest of the summer.

Tired afterwards.

cycling 45:00 [1]

To/From Ad Astra for tonight's run.

running 30:00 [2]

Blair set up a street O' to visit the Studio 804 houses in east Lawrence for the Ad Astra Mass Street Milers. I jogged around the ~3 mile course, some of it with Mary. We stopped at each of the houses and took a look.

I don't know if many (any?) of the Mass Street Milers actually looked at the map, but there were a few OKers (Blair, Mary. Gene, Fritz) who did the course and looked at the maps.

Except for being hot, this was a lot of fun. Thanks to Blair for coming up with the idea and setting it up.

running 20:00 [3]

Short run before a long driving day. I jogged on the path along the creek near the hotel. I saw a black squirrel, too.

Sunday May 6 #

running 15:00 [2]

Visited Bent's Old Fort. I remember it from visiting ~40 years ago with Dad and Stephen. There are a few trails around a marsh and next to the river. I jogged the trails with stops to read some of the historical info.

My other physical activity for the day was reaching the summit of Mount Sunflower.
