Orienteering race 1:23:45 [4] ****
26c shoes: Olway Tiger, sz 10

BOC, Culbin East. M40L, 10.6 km. Wonderful terrain, great course, disappointing run. Maybe a bit complacent after yesterday. Today the controls weren't just popping up when I lost contact. Couldn't seem to read the detailed bits on the move. Even with 10 mins mistakes, was well off the pace (winner 65). One of those days. Routegadget (course 7).

Run (off-road) 20:00 [2]

Warm-up.

Orienteering 40:00 [2] *****
16c shoes: Olway Tiger, sz 10

Some last-minute sand-dune training at Lossie - great, tricky terrain! Did the 5k 'map-of-the-month' course with mini-controls. Very enjoyable, but struggled to follow the detail into the controls. Hit them all anyway.

Run (off-road) 10:00 [2]

Jog to/from start with John.

Run (off-road) 30:00 [2]

Lunchtime - Dunbeg Forest, easy pace. Beautiful up there. The larches are suddenly green. Picked up the first tick of the year though. Hoped it might be a few weeks before having to worry about them.

Bike (roads) 15:00 [1]

Ride out to Ganavan. Gorgeous day. Lots of wildlife - seals but no otters today.

Run (off-road) 1:00:00 [2]

Jog up Beinn Bhreac above Barcaldine. It's the sort of hill that you'd imagine hardly anyone ever goes up, since it involves scrambling up a steep bog for the first part. There was a huge cairn on the summit, though - and great views. Really worth it.
