Short run, out along the walkway to Helen's and back - Chris's 21st party, and I was required to blow up balloons and also to think about my speech, which I managed to leave until the last minute...
Te Mata Peak, in the rain and storminess, just how I like it:) Started to get pretty dark though - started running at 4.27, and coming back through the native bush patch at the end was fairly dicey.
First time ever, didn't make it out of Alpine Meadow, and was extremely glad to have wrist guards (and now have some awesome bruises halfway up my forearms where they end...). Can't wait to go back!
Checking the other half of the control sites in the morning, then picking up a few in the afternoon after a four hour wait for everyone to compete. No complaints, and I think everyone enjoyed it. Weather just held out too:)
Bike out to Poriati and to all the road ends off Poriati Rd, then back. Nice ride, need to clean my chain though, and probably adjust it a bit, as the gear changes are getting a bit clunky. Nose didn't run too much.
Lost 25-19 to a team that included a guy I used to know at high school - seems to happen worryingly often. Good to finally do something after all these days!
Checking control sites at the Firestation with Rita for next weekend. Good to do something, but got quite a headache - sinuses are still pretty clogged up. Drove to Wanganui afterwards to visit my parents.
Harriers hill run. Needed to pee for the first half, until I had to take a shortcut so I had time before the others caught up again - so annoying! Other wise felt quite slow and plodding, I think quite tired after Sunday's run.
In Auckland - did a lap of the domain with Mike, then down to the gym and back so he could meet up with Lee, then did three more laps of the domain by myself - nice tracks through the bush, and a nice change! Didn't feel bad at all, and good to get in a decent long run.
