Running 29:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:48 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Road Runners

Ran the warm up (one loop of the course) of the Gunnar Shaw Cross Country race at Jericho with Louise and then took pictures while Louise, Thomas, Patrick, Desmond and Chris Benn ran an awesome muddy course. Patrick's orienteering background helped him win the race handily. Yay!

Orienteering (Skinkaloppet) 43:00 [3] 5.0 km (8:36 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Road Runners

The first annual GVOC Skinkaloppet hosted by Patrick was a great success. Each person had to estimate the time in which they would complete the course and then run without a watch. The race was even better because the map was terribly inaccurate in places. Despite this we were all (with the exception of Chris Pillar) very close to our estimated times. I was just over a minute off and I was 4th!
Andy narrowly nudged Oystein by 1second (31 seconds off to 32) to win the ham and the oranges.
Very fun!

Running warm up/down 19:00 [3] 3.0 km (6:20 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Road Runners

warm up with Louise, Russel and Lehel before wet. Began to feel extremely ill to my stomach and stopped to dry heave into the bushes. I felt better after that but still a bit crampy and nasty for the rest of the evening.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Road Runners

Jogged the course in Stanley Park intentionally skipping a few of the controls.

Core Strength 1:00:00 [0]

Went to the gym at the VAC while waiting for Alison to finish work and meet me for a swim. I fumbled around on the machines and weights for a few minutes but I was the only female in the room and felt a bit uncomfortable amongst so much testosterone. I did some mat work and then did tons of squats and jumps on various wobble boards.
1x1.5=1.5

Swimming 1:00:00 [1] 1.5 km (40:00 / km)

Swimming at VAC with Alison. The lanes were set up the short way and it was pretty full. Keeping track of the lengths was difficult and I would have lost count if Alison hadn't been there to verify my totals. Because there were so many people, I never really got a good flow and did lots of kickboarding rather than full on swimming.
1.5x2=3
14.2 (water)

Note

I was considering logging my walk home from the pool but I decided to follow the sage words once imparted to me by master trainer Patrick "if you're not in workout clothes, it's not training." Patrick may actually have said something more along the lines of "if you change into work out clothes to do it, it's training" ( which seems a bit out of character but whatever). Regardless, I changed into my work clothes and shoes after swimming and strolled home singing Christmas carols. I guess that doesn't sound much like training at all but it was a nice walk!

Core Strength 1:15:00 [0]

Runner's yoga. It was the first time I had been in two weeks and was definitely feeling a bit tight in some of my muscles. So good!

Orienteering 35:00 [3] 4.75 km (7:22 / km)

Super awesome, wet, muddy training with Louise, Thomas and Oystein at Robert Burnaby park. Way fun!

I don't know the straight line distance because Thomas hand drew the maps so I am piggy backing on his GPS distance and won't multiply by 1.5.

Running 15:00 [3] 2.5 km (6:00 / km)

Terrain run with the crew after the course. Yea we looked cool.
