Run 20:00 [1]
shoes: Montrail CD (2)

Blah. Didn't feel good at all.

Yoga 1:30:00 [3]

Tough class. Haven't been for awhile and still sick. Figure I'd self induce a fever by sweating profusely and hopefully kill those bloody germs once and for all.

XC SKIING (classic) 2:00:00 [2]

Out at Pocaterra with the Strackersons since its really the only place with decent xc conditions for classic. Got a pretty nasty head cold going right now so kept it nice and easy coughing up a lung in the back of the pack. Wish we went longer since the conditions were pretty damn good even though it was a bit slow with the new snow. Felt great despite being a bit sick.

Back on the horse again. Fighting a head cold this week inherited from my lovely niece and nephew. Keeping it a low volume week.

Orienteering (snowshoe) 2:00:00 [1]

A fun chatty run with Pixie at the Hardrock. Haven't O'ed in ages and surprisingly was pretty bang on but was good to have a co-navigator picking up my mistakes. Snowshoeing was a bit slow but let us not follow peoples tracks and go for a bit more adventurous routes across wetlands and such.

Caught SuperLame and TVP around CP10 looking confused then they blasted past like they were caught kissing eachother in embarassment. Maybe they were? It is secluded in the woods! Unfortuntely I couldn't have my sprint off with Wes but they only came in 5min before us...you almost got beat by a girl and lulu-idian bub;)

Great time today seeing the whole AP crew - Bash, 'Bent, Mique, Mick, Tiny, nosnhoj, SuperW, TVP, Sherpa, etc etc. Makes you realize that Ontario has a great community of racers. Really miss that aspect and all the informal weekend racing.

Hammer and Bender - great course! Bender too bad we couldn't head out for beers this weekend! Next time when I'm not doing this blitzkrieg of a mini-visit.

Run 1:25:00 [2]
shoes: Montrail CD (2)

Only ran Nosehill once and it was a short one so decided to really check it out. Started at the 14th St P-lot and worked my way to the middle and around towards the Shag. Skirted along the edge from there along the John Laurie side where I decided to drop and climb multiple hills over and over to put in some real effort. Saw a few trail runners out there...guess this where training is around here. Not quite like the DV but at least its off road.

XC SKIING (classic) 4:00:00 [3]

Since I had a rental and wasn't on a schedule decided to head out to Peter Lougheed to Pocaterra. Pretty much drove through a mini snow storm in the mountains to get there. It was snowing in bunches and the trackset (ploughed ealier in the week) was pretty much covered so made for some trail breaking for the first 2hrs. The parking lot was pretty much empty when I got there. The Hut though was pretty sweet where a few people were getting ready to go. Was pretty awesome since I didn't really see anyone for most of the first part till i dropped back below to the other easier areas. A couple near the end said "hey we're making some tracks for you" in the non-broken side...i was like yeah, I was the one who made the ones you're on 4hrs prior. Had to laugh at that.

Craziest thing was gliding by a HUGE moose while it was in a river bed. I was about 10-15m from it...I think it was shocked to see me as I was to it. We just looked at eachother not knowing what to do!

Note

Entertained Etoile and AG! at the zoo for a few hours today while they had a stop over from Kelowna. A tiger tried to pee on Etoile. We call it the attempted love squirt. Too funny! Two words Olive Garden! Yum.

Bike 1:00:00 [3]

First anything since Sunday. Been on the brink of sickness all week and figured I'd ColdFx it up and just call it a week. Beers with IronDan and Clarke last nite actually made it a bit worse this morning. Fight body fight!

Note

Check this come back in the second part of this clip. Talk about recovery and digging deep in a 600m race!
