Good lower HR spin out with pops on PCH this morning. Perfect weather, light winds, legs felt pretty damn good considering the load ive put on them that past few days. Went HB-LBstate-N.riverjetties-HB. Tons of people out, shedded all my warmers and vest during the ride.

Now its just a mellow rest of the day, relaxing with Sarah and maybe hit the foam roller and stretch later. Hope everyone had a solid weekend in this weather!

A solid ride for me and I feel pretty good about it. Had plans to get out for 60 but got my extra 10 and still feel good after!. My last 3 days ive gotten in almost 10 hours of riding! Im really liking how im feeling, and stoked to be out on the bike as much as I have been, ive been lucky!

Todays weather was too good to pass up, and saw tons of other cyclists with the same mindset, lots of guys out on PCH, solid ride. One minor issue, had a super blowout halfway through the ride at the top of newport coast, rode over a sawzall blade (rusty and didnt see it) and it sliced the sidewall on the rear bad, like a perfect 1 inch slice....dont ask me how. Took me a while to boot it, and another bad sidewall cut with a jellybelly wrapper, and suprising it held up! I dont know whether im more stoked about the ride or that I did an incredible boot job and inflation with co2 than I ever have, best roadside mechanics ive ever had. Dont get me wrong I was pissed but after I realized I did a good job with it, and it lasted thank god! I really am glad I got in these miles! Thanks jelly belly wrapper!

Route was HB-LBstate-Newport Coast-Back Bay-LB-HB. Now im back and Sarah baked a ton of cupcakes for my bday present....welcome to triple calorie gain back! I love it!

And we picked up some nice thick baseball cut filet mignon to bbq up for vday dinner tommorow, got a awesome dinner planned for tonight and tommorow and a good ride in the AM. Loving the weather....it feels ike summer....its still 72 degrees out right now on the coast.

First real ride on the new bike and 2x10. With Slater, recovering from kankle sprain last night but still crushing dreams. The bike is SICK. Awesome weather nice and warm but with a cool breeze and clear.

Been a while since ive ridden aliso, not many people out at that time, and it was rad. Climbed up through the park/hood/trail to Hit up 5 oaks descent first, was rutted and tougher than usual, most technical legal trail out there and it was a bitch, had a couple little crashes, scratched up my back and almost did the splits on one, but ended up fine. We climbed cholla after, descended rock-it (was awesome), climbed harding, headed up to TOW and descended meadows, nice afternoon ride, perfect way to start the weekend.

Loving riding and its been a while since ive been on the MTB. I think the 2x10 is gonna make me strong, no more spinning along wimpy style in the granny or other easy gears, the 2x10 "granny" crushed my dreams up harding. Need to test this biatch on a good long lots of climbing ride in the SA's soon to make sure I can hack this thing. Overall the bike was incredible, light fast, and the only reason my back hurts now is cause i crashed and fell into a tree/train rail stairs. Pretty stoked, awesome riding with Slater (its a rarity he does anything less than 6+ hours), good day.

Chilling now getting ready for a good solid weekend, probably all on the road. Nothing crazy just a mellow weekend, then next weekend its on at Bakersfield!

avg. cad. 88rpm

Cold AM ride this morn, but not as cold as I thought it was going to be. Started at 535, 47 degrees on the coast. Legs never got warmed up, never felt firing, and were kind of tight the whole ride. I spent 90% of the time sucking my dads wheel. Need to get on the foam roller tonight and do some stretching after I get in a ride after work.

Cycling (Road) 1:38:20 [3] 31.01 mi (18.9 mph) +270ft

Avg. cad. - 86rpm

Headwind down south. Pretty gnar, leg was a getting tight. Had a good pace for the headwind. Turned around with a NICE tailwind and basically missed every light possibly almost on the way back. I was turning a bigger gear, going 26+ and missing every light, and not downshifting and I think thats what got me. My Lhamstring started hurting. I spun it out and tried to enjoy the rest of the ride but it wasnt going well, still pulled out some decent numbers.

The real fun started when I got back, cleaned the roadie, and then poured myself some makers and foam rolled the hell out of my leg. gotta keep on this, and stretching....ive been slacking.

Note

Slept in till 630 this morning, was planning on gym cause it was supposed to rain, streets were dry and I skipped the gym, and I dont care! Got a new rear derailleur for the MTB last night (warranty exchange)...dont know how I pulled that off. No chance at riding after work either....dentist appt. so looks like no workouts for me today

Rode with my dad, started at 540am, trying to beat the rain, and we just barely did! Little headwind heading down south, but obviously, got it on the way back to HB. Nice clear morning, cool and not too cold, I am getting used to this cold weather I think, when summer hits Im gonna be super hot I think, weird to think....cause ive never ridden this much in the winter in the early AM ever before.

Taking the rest of the day off probably, probably forced to due to likely rain.

avg. cad. 87 rpm

Was tired and would have loved to stay in bed this morning, but got out there bright and early 530am and what a beautiful morning. First ten miles out didnt hit one light, had a high cadence 97-100rpm and felt good, had a triathlete drafter for 6-7 miles until I hit the turnaround....oh triathletes.

Beautiful morning, great way to start the week, feeling good legs a little tired and sore going up stairs and stuff.

Cycling (Mountain) 56:41 [3] 11.92 mi (12.6 mph) +433ft

avg. cad. - 78rpm

Got out after work on the mtb. What a beautiful afternoon, the hills around the parks and wetlands are super green and lush. Awesome ripping some fresh untouched singletrack nicely packed. Great way to finish off the sunlight on a monday. Still working on tweaking the components and fit on the new bike too, just getting a good feel, but loving it.
