Chilled Swinley Red with C from Kings Ride. He'd finally finished off my ancient Giant XTC, and rode N's old xs Giant Rock not designed for red trails.

Mytchett Solo O Blue - longest course this year
No compass. Had nausea & energy came & went (walked) after 30 mins. Slower than night O Paul but faster than Pete. Good course.
4. 30s left 3 in wrong direction.
9. 30s hesitating not following where I was on map, route was OK.

Swinley Red Trail - 62 mins including stops (passing) & small detours, diversion around sectors 2 & 3. Sub-60 within reach. First attempt at TT, came off gently once.
4k xc out/back (all downhill).
2 PM

Warm Up 15:00 [1] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

Could barely jog for 10 mins but still able to run through heathland terrain on the timed course.
3 PM

Orienteering 31:42 [3] 3.2 km (9:54 / km) +70m 8:56 / km

Barossa Solo O Short Green - wobbly legs after hard ride. Runnable everywhere (surprising).
Missed 8 losing 4 mins, otherwise clean.

Commute both ways starting from Chilworth.
IW - 3 degs w/o gloves & windproof (froze) lanes/tracks. HW - main road. Feeling 80% recovered.

Very wet XC to Holmbury, 2 x Barry Knows Best, plus Yoghurt Pots. Legs fine today, 50% of feet were numb and rest couldn't sense feedback from terrain by the end. Another good day in a different way.

Slept 9.5 hours and belatedly realised misaligned upper mid-back is root of problems, extending down to hips etc- massage chair & exercises.

Solo O Windmill Hill - Blue course 56.40
1 - 60s got drawn to clear area by gullies.
5 - lace got caught in barbed wire (stopped watch)
6 - must be a better route than skirting the infamous nettle patch.
14 - 45s Went round top, up & down quicker, checked pits too early.
Bit below race pace so moving well. Bracken was passable.
Thought area was open & found gates closed, started late from S and area was deserted. N gates opened around 4pm

Swinley with C: 1.5 x red, 1.0 x blue, repeated sectors, plus 12k xc.
Stayed upright & completed nemesis 32 twice
Arrived at car an hour after sunset after bouncing back from Sandhurst/Barrosa locked gate.
Bike serviced and emptied all the slime with a puncture that just kept unsealing.

Maybe 50s lost. Took some different routes & found some straighter lines were fine. More than "decent" time. Looking forward to an event that matters!

Another long warm up. Ankles felt knocked about after run & lungs had a good workout.

Swinley Red & Blue with C. First red trail & stayed on until last 100m. Deep water everywhere that made it harder- all good for building confidence.
