Note

I wonder if I can manage the Crooked Compass. It might be using the Shickshinny and/or Mocanaqua maps which would be cool but tough - those are really physical places. Might have to look for a partner - not sure I'd want to be out on my own.

UsynligO course at Lost Lakes. Had to make the most of the string of beautiful days we've just had; it's supposed to rain tomorrow and then snow next week. But today was high 50s and sunny just perfect weather to be out in the woods. I'm pretty beat after orienteering 3 out of the last 4 days though, that's for sure.

Hill repeats in the little bit of woods near my house that is part of the HOA. Instead of going straight across the bottom I tried snaking my way to get a little more climb in. Spent some time clearing a path which slowed me down, but I wanted an easy day in any case.

A rerun of yesterday's course on my own just to see how much time I was spending trying to help Gloria make sense of it all. I was doing really well until the penultimate control - I lost focus, got sloppy, thought I could just wing it and got myself on the wrong side of a swamp before I realized what I had done. Good lesson to remember to focus the whole course.

An amazing day - bright sun and low 50's. So nice to be out in the woods today.
