BOC relay - Men's Premier.

First time running this category and absolutley loved it!
It was a fast start and I felt shattered on the hill to number 1. Was probably about half way down for the next controls but for the next section I was on my own and orienteered cleanly. I caught up some people on the long leg and spiked the next couple. Setting off on the long leg and looked around and realised I was in the lead! Not for long though as Chris S (DEE) and Rob Baker (SYO) caught me up again up the hill. I kept with them for a bit then Jamie and Cherry caught me up the hill near the end. Then just chilled into the assembly for the last few controls, finishing 5th, 30 secs down.

Great runs from Tom and Steve made us end up 10th! Fantastic result especially comparing the level of experience (+age) of the rest of the field.

Event: BOC 2012

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons (3)

Run to the start with Jamie and warmed up.
Bit of a jog after.

Orienteering race 1:13:12 [4] 12.6 km (5:49 / km) +360m 5:05 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talons (3)

BOC Long - Dalegarth

Fast but tough terrain and fairly easy orienteering. I ran strongly and navigated well. Had Lewis to aim at for the first half but then passed him and didn't pick up the pace. Had to stop for a least a minute about half way round because I suddenly felt very ill and had to use the bathroom.
Jamie caught me near the end and said he had kept seeing me all the way round.

Very pleased with the result, should of been closer to Jonny, but its all on running.
