Note
(sick)

This just in, being sick sucks. Going slightly stir-crazy at home.

Cross-country skiing (skating) 1:30:00 [2]

Ski practice, great conditions. All athletes seemed to be doing different stuff so a bit all over the place.

Orienteering so needs to do this:

The US could just do it in one region.

Cross-country skiing (classic) 1:30:00 [2]

Practice with the ski team. Some did intensity, some did not. Pretty nice conditions.

Cross-country skiing (Classic) 1:30:00 [3]

Classic ski in Banff from the Banff Springs. First time I've skied there, not the most exciting trail ever, but did the trick. Out and back along a road, reminded me of skiing at Lake Louise early season. Good conditions but pretty slow.

I haven't caught as much Nordic Olympic coverage as I'd like, but the CAN Cross-Country team got a bunch of Own the Podium and B2Ten money & Biathlon got very little. Is Canada back to Nagano?

Cross-country skiing (skating) 1:30:00 [3]

Skiing with Edmonton Nordic, good workout actually.

Ended up jumping into 10 x 1 min with 2 min rest. Skied with Emma, new skis felt fast, but rode a little strange.

Super cool that Dylan Wykes will be joining the Van Sprint Camp for dinner. I owe him a serious bottle of wine.

Plan is for him to eat with the Jrs. at the camp.

Running 1:00:00 [3]

Run on the treadmill. Boring!

Tomorrow in Edmonton the windchill will be -32. Some of us don't take the chance of warm weather and sun in Vancouver lightly.

Trivia: Luke Wilson of the Seahawks was in Edmonton summer 2008. What was he doing?

Note

Cross-Country Canada has released a new Training Centre Plan:

Not quite sure what it will mean going forward. Right now they have Training Centres in:

Quebec City
Thunder Bay
Canmore (WC Academy)
Whistler

Cross-country skiing (Classic) 1:30:00 [2]

Classic practice and workout with Ed Nordic. Yes, my klister base from weeks ago is still totally working! This leads me to believe I put way too much on, but really, it's not too grippy.

Did a pyramid workout 1-2-3-4-3-2-1 with only 2 skiers there, everyone else was off racing elsewhere (Easterns, Western Biathlon Champs, Beckie Scott Loppet).
