Run 1:45:00 [3]
shoes: Yellow Swoops 5

Easy moors run, with Roseberry proving irresistable. Stunning winter views. Longest run for ages which felt easy at the time but will perhaps ache tomorrow.

Still torrential outside this evening, for third evening.
BCWU, 120/70 alternate minutes for 10m, 5 spin ups (hit 160!), 3x45sec top gear stomps.
Good use of time at end of a busy day.

Pootle down the coast, check out Staithes for Orienteering, up Roxby and back over moors.

Wednesday Nov 21, 2012 #

Note

Deliberate very easy week to see if it helps various small niggles. Lots of stretching. Lots of decorating.

Monday Nov 19, 2012 #

Note
(rest day)

2 hours in the rain finishing the last bits of the Coulby map. Just good enough, I hope.

Sunday Nov 18, 2012 #

Ride US 3:59:00 [3]
shoes: 7005SL

CW Sunday run out towards Scotch Corner somewhere. Icy to begin with, a couple of mechanical stops all resulting in a very variable pace among the group. Ideal for a sunny November Sunday though, and put some more names to faces.

Run 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: XTalon212-1

Duathlon at Prissick. A good blast . Took the first run steady as I had no idea of the impact of bike+run, then lost loads of time shoelace faffing (how do they do that?). Bike was hectic, lapping more than being lapped. All alone for final run but kept it together. Seems that heart rate on bike is now approaching that for running, which is good news. 7trh of 35-ish.
Will be doing another of these - would be good to get into a race.

Friday Nov 16, 2012 #

Ride US 35:00 [3]

WU, alternate minutres at 120/70, then three spin ups to 140. Seem steady to 135 but would be scary to do that on the road. CD.

Wednesday Nov 14, 2012 #

Ride US 40:00 [3]
shoes: Turbo

BCWU; 14 alternating minutes of single legs. Right is less smooth than left when tired. Painful way to find that out though ...... CD

Tuesday Nov 13, 2012 #

Ride US 45:00 [3]
shoes: Turbo

BCWU; 4 x (5m on 2.5/6 @95rpm, 3min recovery), CD.
Felt tough although I know this gearing would have been beyond me last winter. Legs have changed shape!

S & C 20:00 [3]

Sunday Nov 11, 2012 #

Ride US 3:14:00 [3]
shoes: 7005SL

CW Sunday ride. Mostly easy pace and (again) learned alot about group riding including some how-not-to demos.

Saturday Nov 10, 2012 #

Ride US 45:00 [3]
shoes: 7005SL

Easy spin / shake down after a bit of bike tinkering. Also managed to scout out a few more interesting parts of the Guisb' urban map.

Friday Nov 9, 2012 #

Ride US 1:00:00 [3]

Middlesbrouigh Cycle track. Round and Round and Round the 1km track with Tri club. Some structured training in a very mixed ability group - even I managed second in the elimination race. Fantastic facility and great fun.

Orienteering 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: Yellow Swoops 5

Bank Foot - twice round yellow course, some hanging, complete lap of wake-up-dibbing, some collecting.
Eager to see splits but feedback on the day was mainly OK. As an area it's physicality will always divide opinion (Duncan did 10mins/km) but hopefully people appreciated the technical challenge. On balance all the effort was worthwhile.

BCWU. 3 x (8m + 2m) on 3/6 @95. CD.

Note

Thought it worth recording that I've had an occasional sharp pain in the back of my left heel. It began about a week ago and, if it develops into anything, it will be worth knowing when it began. At the moment, I can't link it to any incident or to doing anything n particular.
Clearly I blame decorating and will use that theory to justify spending tomorrow's day off doing something more exciting.
