Area with lots of undergrowth - challenge to delineate somewhat vague edges and deciding on the threshold where runnability would fall off by 20% - both due the slowness of veg and micro route choices through spottier bits. Quite a bit of rock as well, many mappable, but plenty under the radar too, but not quite rocky ground either.

Rain just letting up. Woods likely pretty damp this AM so going to skip field checking and just go run in them. Its been a while...

Woods more open than they were three weeks ago and they were pretty darn open then. And streams are running again. Took some different routes today so although it would have been pretty hard to screw up in the circle, the in between areas could have been an issue. But they weren't, a good day out. Ran about as hard as current fitness allows. New shoes felt good on the problem foot, but seem to flex weird on L foot, may just need to break it in.

Took 40 minutes off my previous effort on Sept 20.

At this point the foot is more of a nagging discomfort rather than truly painful. Unless I do something stupid like trip or kick something.. Definitely improving. But these road shoes much too sloppy. New Inov-8s came yesterday, maybe give them a spin tomorrow..
