shoes: Inov 8 X-talon 212 #4

Legs a bit sore from yesterday so not moving too fast. Particularly slow downhill. Went out for a loop on my own doing about 8 miles in 75mins or so then met Ross and Alison at Swanston and did another loop over caerketton and allermuir at a nice chill pace with them. Great fun and nice to catch up.

Not the longest run but a solid week of training. Ticking all the boxes with 2 sessions and a long(ish) run. A few more weeks like this and I should be doing well!

From home down to Jonny's to drop off a bag then to the meadows

Good session with Jonny. 10 min tempo to start running at 5:32 pace. This is maybe a little faster than tempo should be for me at the moment but felt decent.

Then moved on to his triangle session on the grass. Taking each triangle on the meadows running one side hard and one side easy until you'd done each side of the triangle hard then move on to the next one. Nice mix of different length reps and recoveries. Would be 24 in total if you did the whole thing but we skipped a couple of the bigger ones in the middle so I made it to work on time. We did 6 of the 8 total triangles so 18 efforts.

This was hard. I've definitely not got much in the way of speed but was good fun and nice to do something a bit different

Jogged back to Jonny's. In the time it took me to get my bag it had started raining fairly heavily. Eased off after the meadows though but then as I got to the mound it started absolutely bucketing down. Arrived at work very wet and provided some nice entertainment for everyone

Back on the canal sessions. 4X6mins (90s) Aiming to just keep it cruisey. Not moving overly fast tonight and didn't feel like I could have gone much quicker but nice to get something done. Hopefully the consistency starts here.
